More Annoying Word Usage
This one has been brewing with dislike inside me for awhile: Why does anyone over age 18 use the word "holla" or the phrase "holla back" to describe contacting another person? Can you possibly sound more stupid?
Yeah, yeah, yeah; I've heard the word and phrase used in music and other media references, but like the use of most youth idioms, you don't look cooler or younger if you use this/them, you look dumber, older and cloying. Everyone knows you're trying to be more urban than you really are, especially if you are a white person who grew up in or are now living in affluence.
