Independence Day

Val and I want to wish everyone a happy Independence Day and to remember all of the freedoms that we too often take for granted, and yes, that means all of the Constitution and its amendments, and not the vile belief that only the "original" Constitution is valid.
Also, due to my years as a journalist and editor, I am pretty adamant on calling it Independence Day and not July 4 or the Fourth of July, since we celebrate the holiday, not the date.
