In a Land Far, Far Away ...

How many of you readers remember when gas stations (yeah, how many even remember that term?) gave away glasses, including Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills and other sports teams glasses, along with other items when you bought gasoline?
I can't remember if Buffalo Braves' glasses were given away, but geez, talk about a change in direction. Of course, some people might be throwing the glasses back at the gas station when they see the prices; yes, yesterday was the first day I had to get gasoline since the price went above $4 a gallon.

All I get now from the gas stations is open style beef jerky...you know...the unpackaged type 2 for a $1.00 at my local NOCO...

I remember that as a kid. Gas stations were fun then.

I once bought a Buffalo Bills package on Ebay that had to be gas station giveaways.

It contained a coca-cola styled glass with the helmet printed on it, a frosted rocks glass sized cup with logo and wording, and.....one super awesome 1980's silver Buffalo Bills digital watch.

Y'know the kind with the small rectangular readout and elastic metal band.

The coke styled one turned out to be just as great for beer as a pilsner glass and now it's always Bills time.

Beef jerky? You're a brave man, Chris.

It sounds like you got yourself a sweet Bills package, FTLT, and I bet more people used the glasses for their favorite barley malt beverage than for their favorite cola soft drink. Oh, that watch description brought a smile to my face.
