Setting a Fine Example
As Val and I waited to be seated at the restaurant where we ate Saturday dinner, several other families and groups came in, a couple of them needlessly and loudly complaining about having to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated. Dumb and petty, but not that unusual.
After we were seated, one of the families mentioned above, a husband and wife about 45 years old, and their son, age 13-15, were seated near us. After they got their menus, Mom and Dad immediately proceeded to take out their cell phones and start texting; all this time, their son sat there, seemingly waiting to, heaven forbid, talk to his parents in real time.
