Sabres Take 2-1 Series Lead

The Buffalo Sabres took a 2-1 lead in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals by beating Carolina, 4-3, last night, in a nail-biting finish after Buffalo took a 4-1 lead in the second period that Carolina narrowed to 4-2 going into the third period. The Sabres did a lot of things better than Games 1 and 2, but probably went into a shell too early and almost paid the price. Val was able to go to the game last night with a friend from work, and yes, her voice sounds a bit like Lauren Bacall again. And what is that orange fur on her Sabres' t-shirt and jersey?
Unfortunately, defenseman Henrik Tallinder left the game with an injury (possibly arm), and the Sabres certainly do not need another injured defenseman. Jeff Jillson played a good game in place of Teppo Numminen, who still has a "mid to lower body" injury.
I spent the game at home with Walker Evans (our dog, not the late photographer) and Bfloblog, enjoying both immensely, and am hoping the Sabres continue their attacking and more physical approach in Game 4 Friday.
