Low Bridge, Everybody Down

Val and I have noticed that the number of Christmas and holiday cards we have received so far this year is way down from previous years.
We are not the kind of people to just remove others from our cards list for not getting one in return (we have about 50 recipients on our list) and we adjust a couple of addresses each year, but so far, less than 10 have arrived here at the Dunne-Hosey Estates. We hope our relatives and friends, as well as others, are not in much tougher financial straits this year than in previous years.

Volume definitely seems down to me as well, but I thought that may be because we moved and some people may not have had our new address yet. I find that we hardly get any from our peers in the under 35 age group, so it may be that sending Christmas cards is a dying tradition.

Ditto.

Except I am one of the ones who haven;t sent my cards out yet because of $$$ and poor timing with paycheck weeks switching with the new job and dumping $900 in the truck a few weeks back. :(

We have about 10, and I sent out over 40, so yeah, either people are too busy, or aren't sending them (of course one was forwarded from our old address). Love the smiling Walker by the way. And I hope you got ours, since you did mention relatives....

I looked at the age of people we send our cards to as well, Derek, which is basically age 30-45. We seem to have the same basic response across that range.

Don't worry, Jenn; that truck repair saga has set you guys back a bit. Anyway, the cookies Val brought home from your shindig were delicious.

Yes, sis, we did receive your card and photos of the kids; thanks. Maybe the card tradition is declining, especially with the advent (no pun) of e-cards and greetings. Walker says you're welcome.
